Deployment Process

Deployment of eTrack is very straight forward and we are very flexible. Most deployments are done over the Internet and we build up wonderful relationships with people we have never met!

A typical small company (<20 user) deployment typically follows these steps (although we are happy to change these).

  1. We use a fully configured architect 'clean' database (that is all set up but with no data) and host it for you on our server. This server is with a very secure hosting company in Melbourne Australia (as used by our government clients) and not in our offices.
  2. We set up a time for a 'Getting Started' session that takes one hour over the Internet. We'll work 'on-the-job' and immediately afterwards you can logon and continue populating the data. No preparation for this session is needed and the training follows the Admin Help Guide so you don't need to take notes:-)
  3. Over the next few days and weeks you will populate the data and we'll have follow up sessions over the Internet to answer questions and train you in the other major features if and when you are ready. The Users Help Manual provides extensive help not on how to use eTrack but also the philosophy around how to do practice management in a building professional firm.
  4. In parallel with population and training we will send you a link to install eTrack on your local server. Install is "one-click" so you don't need to budget for IT help. The install comes with a dummy database so you can test the install.
  5. When you are ready to 'go-live' we'll pick a time to back up the database and send you a link to download and install it. The installation includes a Maintenance program that you can use to restore the database. This program has utilities for backup, restore, upgrades, deleting the recycle bin and quick and full health checks and is complementary.
  6. We continue to work with you by email and email sessions to help you get the most out of eTrack by training you in new features as you become ready to use them and as enhancements are done.
  7. From time to time we'll send you upgrades to add new features and reports and fix any defects. These are typically twice a year but should you request a customisation or find a defect that needs fixing we'll typically release a patch to you every two weeks, or within a day or so if urgent.
